What type of material should I use to run a line from my 200psi underhood air compressor to my storage tank mounted under the vehicle above the axle ?

X2, copper's good. Use flared fittings (preferably AN flare, not 45 degree plumbing flare or compression fittings) and plenty of PTFE on any NPT fittings and you'll be all set.

hey i dont mean to ambush this thread but does any one know where i can find info on how to convert my AC to OBA searched and did not find anything.

What compressor do you have?

Curious as to why not a 45 deg?
37 degree AN flaring is more robust and can be disassembled and reassembled without worrying about reflaring the ends or leaks. It is more expensive though... if you aren't going to disassemble it ever, or only once or twice, go for it and use standard 45 degree flaring, you won't have an issue. I would not use compression fittings under any circumstances though.

Also, remember to put shutoff valves in various places if you're running locker(s) and non-essential gear off the same tank, if you don't and you break one of the lines going to a nonessential item you will be without lockers.

Stick with what you think you know! When is the last time you dealt with "circuit breakers" that operate at +2500PSI?

Stay away from copper tubing. It fractures over time with vibration. I can't even begin to say how many copper lines on cheap air compressors i've made out of stainless braided hose. Go to a NAPA or any other place that makes hydraulic hoses and they will help you out.

This morning!

NICE!! Just read your profile, gotta love to really high voltage stuff(15-500 KV)
IBEW LU640

What temperature will it withstand?

Truck air brake line is fun stuff to work with, however:
Operating tempature: -65deg to +200 deg F (-54 deg to +93 deg C

A cooler is needed. If copper is not possible? what is the next option? Hydraulic hose will not dissipate much heat.

And why 200 psi?

200 psi system, Viair 480C Air Compressor, It has an 18" stainless lead that will go into a 1/2 gallon air tank, I think that will take most of the heat; the tubing I am looking for will go from the 1/2 gal tank to a 2.5 gal tank I have installed above the rear axle.
