I have an 01 sport... the ac blows 45-50 f, is there any way to get it colder... I have a sonoma at work that gets close to 35f.. Do i need to add more coolant? Any ideas? Thanks

you can try to get it serviced, but r134 refrigerant doesnt cool anywhere near what r12 does.

I drove an '03 Navigator for a couple hours the other afternoon. The r134a AC would have froze me out of the car if I didn't shut if off.

I would say it depends on the design of the system more than the refrigerant.

Sounds like the low pressure side (suction) is a little high. 45-50 degrees equates to about 42 psi or so for 134a. If you're not familiar with refrigeration systems, you might consider taking it to a shop for a system diagnosis. Ideally, you'd want about 30-35 psi on the low side, which would equate to around the 35-40 degree air temp you're looking for. Best to leave this kind of repair to someone qualified with the proper equipment.
