I went to best buy found the jeep 85-2002 wire harness tied everything together with my Pioneer head unit and noticed there are two seperate harnesses I should say one being for speakers and one for power acc. is this going to plug right into my harness in the dash?

Well the harness in the dash has 1 connector for all of the wires...my harness adapter kit came with 2 harnesses, one for jeeps wired for 2 speakers, and one for jeeps wired for 4 speakers.

One harness is black the other is grey. I have an 89 with 4speakers. the black harness doesnt have any batt connections or ign acc connections. :-( idk im gonna have to go outside at see what I could do. any other help is appreciated also.

NVM this harness is junk. 1985-2002 Jeep... guess they don't mean it because its def not fitting.. oh well ill chop em I guess and do it myself.

Harness was a waste of money. I'm going to take it back tomarrow. I know alot of people enjoy using them and make it alot easier, but take two color diagrams of your jeep code, your cd player code and chop off the stock harness. Wire em up with nuts or solder. If you ever want the player back and your gonna sell the vehicle just save the stock harness, shrink tube the cuts and plug the stocker back in if you have it. :p man it's late...

wow, it certainly IS late for you.....

I just spend the extra few bucks and buy a deck at Car Toys and have them install it. If you sell the vehicle they will usually remove the stereo and put the old one back in for free.
I had them put mine in a few years back just because the wire diagrams were making me nuts and it was worth it.

Well that is a bummer to hear but that range is way too broad. If you require a schematic pm me and I will see what I can do for you, however I will at least need to know what year you have.

Don't bother with the smart harnesses. Just pick up the 70 series harness which plugs into the factory and then use some connectors to match it up to the harness that came with the radio. I mean those smart harnesses are quite easy to put in as long as you have the right one but IMO they are a total waste of money.

With our Jeeps, most of the work can be done in-house. But there are still some things that are not worth the time to do yourself.

and at the moment, I'm tune-less in my XJ.....:bawl:

I know how you feel! I'm so used to it I have to turn the radio down to think in high traffic lol...

Hang in there and just listen to the sweet tunes of the road. lol

hook em both up you need them both

I just stick an earphone in one ear and I'm good.... I'll have a stereo soon though..... soon.....

My standard version involves flux, solder, heat shrink, a schematic and a bit of time. I dig Ipod control.
