I can not seem to find any information on the purpose of this hose and a cause for why there is brake fluid leaking from it.

Anyone please help...

Actually.... it's not a brake hose, but a vent hose for the diff..... (even though it sits on that T on the axle... :)
Did you verify the fluid level inside of the reservoir in the engine bay?

Also when did you lifted did you make sure that the other hose coming to the t is long enough for when you flex???

And you might wanna look into the pumpkin to see how's the fluid looking in there as that hose belongs to the diff....

And as you do all that, take a rag and some sort of a cleaner and clean off everything and then look after driving a bit if anything is still wet? It might have been that you had either the diff overfilled, or just got it hot and it puked out the side

That not a brake hose, and thats not brake fluid. That is the rear diff vent hose, if it is leaking out of there it is diff lube. Check the level in your diff.

Damn....beat me by 2 min. Great minds think alike.

Thanks, I will clean up the area and monitor it.
I like the look of the 16" wheels but the Goodyear tires are rated E. would this cause handling issues ?

What kind of "handling" issues? I hope you don't plan to cruise at over 100 MPH with a lifted XJ on mud tires, so what handling issues could the speed rating of the tire cause?

BTW -- your factory rims are 16x7 not 16x8.

Diff vent hose. Resolved, they over filled the diff last service

Toe left: 0.20 right 0.20
There has been an improvment, but bump steer is still there.
Any suggestions, should I go back and have the toe angle adjusted ?
