advice on how to handle a sloppy girlfriend?

She’s a 20yo living with a 27yo. Use her needing a father figure to your advantage. Yell at her to clean her room and then spank her.


And then PM me some photos of her. That will teach her a lesson.

Definitely on the right track with this question!

It's obvious your GF acts like a child, despite the fact she's 20 years old. It's possible she may grow up and take responsibility, but how long will that take? I wouldn't hold my breadth. This isn't even the most important issue you ought to address.

For the sake of your daughter's mental and emotional well-being, have your live-in girlfriend move out. If you don't care that you're modeling unhealthy behavior to your daughter, then let her stay.
 
haha thanks for the replies fellas. i had a talk with her nicely about it again. i am going to do a shit load of laundry today and fold it and leave it out for her to put away. If she cant find a home for it i am going to require it disapear from our apartment. You guys actually had some good ideas and some good thoughts, i appreciate the help. I do care very much for her because she has been there for me while i was down, and she helped get me back on my feet. So i really dont want to just toss her out on her ass. PLus she is great with my daughter and my daughter adores her. I will try a few other things and see if i get anywhere as an attempt to salvage the relationship. If she cant seem to keep things to a minimum i guess i'll have to take further action and rethink my living situation

Clothes on the bed when I wanted to go to bed, she would go to garage sales and buy crap and justr hang it up on the floor.

Dude, kick her to the curb before you get any kids or you will be stuck with her for the rest of your life..

You can have a clean house, even with kids around.
It takes dicipline, and a lot of nagging, but they get the hint.
And garbage bags full of stuff hey leave out for extrended periods of time....

You know, I used to think the same thing, but THAT marriage failed in 4 months. Tamara (my current wife)and I dated for 4 years before we got married. We never lived together until we married. Its been great ever since. I feel that I respect her more for it too.

As for the OP, do you want your daughter to pick up these habits? Your GF sounds like she cares deeply for your daughter. Does she expect your daughter to live like her too? Something for you to think about and talk to her about.

Alot of people on this forum are "godly" for the lack of a better explanation. Thats what would probably explain your thought process (if you are even religious.. i dont mean to target you per sey).

IMO, you should take marriage very seriously ( yeah im one of "those" that have been married). You need to make sure that this person is the one who fufils your life the way you need her/him too. (depending on your preference) You wont ever know this until you have sex with the person, and live with them. (this of course depends on how much you value sex and other aspects of being / living with a significant other). If you dont find these things out and end up married ... and then even worse bring kids into the mix... your just setting your family up for failure. The worst possible thing you could do IMO is split up a family. I have two kids with my x wife... and im lucky. We have 50/50 custody unlike most divorced couples. Even in that opitimal scenario, its hell. You have to keep moving your kids around from home to home etc. Its just plain not fair to them.
Anyway, i have been with my current GF for about 2 years now, and have lived together for about 3 months. The bottom line IMO is you just dont know until it happens. You HAVE to live with someone to find out there habits , communication, cleanliness, etc...etc.. (insert your favorite quality here). Things can and DO change when living together... you just have to know if its right for you.

These are of course my opinions based on my experience and my agnostic views on life and love. Its definetly what i would preach to anyone if asked for an opinion.

Bottom line?

You better find out this person is what you want before making serious committments. Dont ever settle cause unhappyness, no matter how selfish the root s still unhappyness. If your not happy in a relationship, then all sorts of problems arise!
 
My first thought when I read the title was: "a sloppy drunk or a slut?"

And my next thought was "pics of said girlfriend." And we still don't have any.

I like the "hang it up on the floor" comment...I may have to use that one.
 
At least tell us her measurements if you won’t post photos. I have a great imagination when it comes to imagining someone else’s girlfriend.
