I love this one!...............................I still want a Jeeper with selectable Front and Rear to do the challenge! Same uphill, traction-limited section. Lock only the front and give 'er a whirl. Now try it again, rear locked and give us the results! I can handle it!
I am getting a little better performing searches. Many long threads leave questions unanswered. I'm trying to find out what is the best way to handle my situation. I purchased a 92 XJ Limited with a NP242. The rig came with a RE 3.5" SF lift, RE 1600 track bar, a worn out OEM LS 8.25" swapped into the rear, 33/12..50s and 4.10 gears professionally installed 1 yr ago.

This is a back up DD and must be driven to the trail head which can be 100 miles away.

The OEM LS is worn out at 160K. It is a back up rig so, inclimate weather should not be an issue. Selectable lockers are not in the running here. I have gotten advice anywhere from to just install an Aussie up front to just weld the rear.

I wheel once or twice a month and the terrain ranges from the mud seen in my avatar to mild rock ledges.

I'm not into the "mud" thing so most of my wheeling is on rocks.

I am borderline on unloading the rig as it is now. If, an Aussie up front would help it to run with my club a little better then I'll hang onto it.

So, back to the original question.......if, only one (automatic) locker which would you go with?
