adhesive backed UHMW film for leaf springs?

Has anyone tried a ptfe coating? Most need heat to cure like powder coat but there are some that can just be sprayed or brushed on.
I tried 'Slip-Plate' aerosol a few years back when I rebuilt a leaf spring pack. I'd be surprised if it lasted one day. And it obviously requires a lot of work to apply properly.

I can't remember if I used teflon or uhmw strips (they were black and had a directional texture), but I used 3M VHB double sided foam tape, and it's still holding up except it will flatten and squeeze out a bit with use. I just used a razor to trim excess and is still holding up after 4 years although it's not my daily driver. VHB is good stuff.
