A peak at what a certain traitor has been up to

:roflmao: well, they are no longer "self clearancing". Go spend $10 on the 1" angle iron it will now take to make some rocker protection!

I hate welding to sheet metal

Welding done, and so is my back

Now for the fun part of cutting away even more body to make the frame connectors

The hardest part is making yourself do it. I've been contemplating them the entire build and last night I finally forced myself to start cutting. Once that was done I had to do it.

So I've decided I'm going to ditch the AX-15 in favor of an AW4. I'll be using RADesign shifters to control the AW4 w/o the need for a computer. I'll also be losing the crawlbox in favor of a 4:1 in the D300. That should still net me a crawl ration of about 100:1 once you factor in the 2:1 of the torque converter. I'm also going to look into replacing the clutch master with a cut-in brake set up so that my clutch pedal will be able to control just the rear brakes for aid in doing front digs.

By the time I get done swapping in all these XJ parts I might as well just call this thing a 2 door soft XJ w/ frame.

Its 23 spline input and output. It should bolt to any 91 or newer AW4 and any 4.0L AX-15. You can then bolt either a D300 or NP231 w/ 23-spline input to it.

The reason I'm ditching it is that I shouldn't need it with the automatic and a 4:1 in my D300. Right now my D300 is stock geared and having a manual transmission the idea of the crawlbox was to make crawling over big obstacles easy despite the clutch and still be able to have a middle range for doing the easier trails. The automatic with its torque converter should be adequate to do just that with a 4:1 in the D300. Not counting in the torque converter I'll be at a 51:1 crawl ratio in w/ 4:1 t-case and adding in the roughly 2:1 advantage of the torque converter I'll have a roughly 102:1 crawl ratio.

You should be able to take your current 231's input gear and swap it into the crawlboxx, then put the crawlbox's input into your 231. That'll allow the crawl box to bolt to your AW4 and your 231 to bolt to the crawl box. Easy as pie, 7:1 crawl ratio pie even.

Asking 500$ for the doubler or I'll trade it and my D300 for a D300 thats already got a 4:1 conversion. And its sitting on my garage floor now, just with the D300 still attached.
