A peak at what a certain traitor has been up to

Its a JD Model 3 bender with a harborfreight hydraulic conversion, and thanks.

dutch -- you need a M146 trailer. The way your rear tub is angled, it'll match like it was born with it. Looks great, man. And I'm not a YJ fan.

No trailer, there isn;t enough room for it on my trailer. :D

Yeah, and even better the Passat is supercharged. At least thats what I telly myself that horendous whine from the power steering pump is.

Swung by Nick's (Gotlift01) shop today and checked out Ashman's former rig. He also let me test fit his 42" Pitbulls mounted on 17" aluminum beadlocks. It was like seeing my Jeep all grown up and ready for college. Almost brought a tear to my eye.

Trying to show the difference between a 6" offset (what I've got now) and 3.5" offset on the same width of rim:

Rear shackle still sticks past :( Guess I need 54's

Flexing in a ditch nearby, the rear will definitely need to be trimmed up more. The tire was touching the fender when I was sitting in the Jeep and there is still more suspension left. I do have a good 1.5" I can trim higher without going past the inner fender though.

Front flexed good though

Shouldn't have issues clearing the either

The front still has room to go up but I have no problem adding in a bump stop, here is how much negative arch I got not being quite fully flexed up.

All in all I think the 42's look perfect and should work well with my current suspension setup. With the 3.5" offset its definitely a lot wider so I might go with a 4" or 4.5" to keep it from getting too wide. Also, Ashman's old rig is definitely impressive in person. I think it'll be an awesome platform for what Nick wants to do to it. I also like how relatively simple it really is, its not some over engineered big money rig. Its got mods done well that work well, nothing super fancy about it at all. I would definitely have bought it had I had the opportunity. A great buy for sure. Thanks again Nick for letting me hang out and look that thing over.

Anytime man! Sure didn't seem like we were BS'ing for 7 hours...hopefully your wife wasn't toooo mad!

Your Jeep looked freakin sweet with the Pitbull's on there! I was blown away how much meaner it looked with the wider stance.

She's always mad, I'm used to it.

We measures 81.25" at my b-pillar hoop right? My garage door is 83" so it would still fit. :D

Yep 81.25" You know the sad thing....I couldn't ride in your Jeep sitting straight up if you pulled it into the garage, I'd be close to hitting my head! I couldn't even see out of your windshield without slouching in the seat. :o

looks gnarly, Rich -- is it just me, or do you need some rocker protection? :D

yup, 42's. Looks Killer. absolutely killer.

Need my jeep to frow up agian too

Thanks Mike, Its crazy what a difference they made. It was even more so in person. And 42's on 6.5" of suspension lift with 0 body lift isn't bad either, maybe not LCG worthy but still not terrible either.

It was more like 6, but yes it was crazy. She was definitely upset but she got over it.

Yeah Nick, that was funny. I'm pretty sure that once I go to suspension seats that even with sliders they'll sit quite a bit lower. That'll definitely help with the headroom issue, although us shorter people don't have many issue once we've managed to climb up into the thing. :D

Looks good Dutch. I think you have your answer on what size.

I agree, and thanks.

What do you mean? Oh, no thats not rocker damage. Thats my self boatsiding rockers slowly maturing. :D

nice. and here I sprung for Frank's SliderZ... I'm so not cool with the in crowd.

:roflmao: I've really tried to stay out of this mess -- you should have seen the PITA it was for me to throw a 2" OME lift on my friend Dave's TJ with the sloppy-ass bracket locating on his 8.8 -- I swear, the rear track bar bolt will only fit on a 25-30* angle, because the bracket wasn't installed properly. I made it work, and it will be fine for the limited 4wd that Dave does, but under heavy use, and for what he paid.... f'n lame.
