A Hum or a Howl

I'm getting a kind of howling sound at times in my 93XJ. It only happens when I'm crusing along at a steady speed. It doesn't happen while accelerating or decellerating ever. The slightest change on the gas pedal makes it stop. Pinion bearing? I hope not, but I'm always upto learning something new!

I'd say pinion bearing if the noise stopped when you let off the gas (coasted), but when you're accelerating? Dunno - I'd like to follow this one when the gear guys get hold of it. BTT for ya.
