A "rule of thumb" says the static pressure should be about the ambient temp. This assumes the engine is also at ambient temperature.
Given the low pressure, it may not have been enough to even move the needle on the high side.
For R-134a refrigerant, the proper way to fill is to evacuate the system and then charge using the correct amount of R-134a by weight.
With yours so low, you likely have a leak somewhere. Best to find and fix it before you fully recharge.
Based on your past posts, I assume you have a 2000. Refrigerant amount is 1.25 lbs.
