My wife is looking a getting a 97' YJ. She wants to use it as a daily driver. I was just questioning the quality. I am trying to get her to consider an older CJ but she wont have it. I am not to familar with how well the newer YJ's are built. Any warnings or compliments on the newer wranglers would be appriciated. It is a 97' 4.0, np231, auto trans.
thanks

Well... To start with there was no YJ in 1997 :gag:

YJ endedin 1996
TJ started in 1998

There was no SWB in 1997

Sorry, wrong answer. YJ stopped in 95, TJ started in 97.

To answer the question, TJs overall are good vehicles. The auto trans in the 97 has no overdrive, the radiators are known to leak, but nothing really else wrong with them. Well, other than mostly cheerleaders and high school girls drive them. :gag:

thanks guys. that thing was a pos. barely started, death wobble, severe pull to the right and I mean severe. got about 100 yards off the lot and turned around. she will have to keep on shopping. stupid me tj, yj.

thanks
