97 Taurus guys, tranny help

Intermittent, speedo stops working transmission doesn't shift right and feels choppy. Turn it off and on, speedo works tranny is fine.

Is there a speed control somewhere likely causing this? Where is it, what is it called exactly?

Should be the speed sensor on the tranny.
