97 Grand just quits on my niece

97 2WD/4.0/auto

My niece tells me her the engine on her Grand just turns off while driving down the freeway. It will start right back up. So I know it is electrical connection or wire with insulation worn through short circuiting to ground. Being 23yo she is always on the go so it is hard for anyone to have the Jeep long enough to track down the problem.

This afternoon for about an hour will be the 1st time I get to take a look. To cut down my diagnosis time...where to start?

Check the harness plug at ECM, i'v read they can get loose and cause issues like this.

was just gunna say the same as i had a 97 with that issue looked like someone busted the clips on the bottom of the plugs..

pcm are junk on those too. the circuit board can flex and ground out shutting it off and then itll restart. have it scanned for codes tho before you do anything, preferrably from someone with a chrysler scanner, as the codes you get with those are not the same as one for the parts store
