I have a white 1996 4 door 4 cylinder 5 speed 2wd jeep cherokee for sale. it shows about 140,000 miles. I originally bought it for parts, then i thought it only needed a head gasket, so i tried to fix it and found my parts elswhere. After removing the head i found the forward most piston is cracked, and that is beyond what i can handle in my apartment complex garage. So i'm considering a sale, if it doesn't sell i'll put the parts on here & e-bay. I want to try to sell whole first.
The Good:
3 tires are very new, and one is brand new, less than 1 mile on it.
Clear title
new water pump
new thermostat
new bosh platnum plugs
new cap rotor & wires
transmission shifts perfectly (for the mile or 2 i drove it)
good clutch
good dana 35 rear
Drives straight, doesn't pull or make noise
no rips or cracks in the interior, its got some daily use dirt, but it would look new if cleaned. doesn't smell like smoke, or look like it was smoked in.
white Paint would shine like new with a coat of wax.
Has a/c, i didn't try it while i had it running, so i can not tell you if its good, but all the parts appear to be there, and are NOT disconected...
The head is removed, so the engine is already 1/2 taken apart, and everything is labelled, so you will be able to easily get it back together.
The Bad:
Needs engine replaced or rebuilt
Driver side tail light is broken
front and rear bumpers are bent, no body sheet metal damage, just bumpers (about $50 to replace from local junk yards)
Hood has a 1/2 dollar sized dent in it.
The head is removed will need to be towed.
it will need a battery as well, it had a new one when i originally posted, but one of the other cars needed a new battery.
I might consider an trade for a running volkswagen rabbit/golf/jetta/old beetle, merkur xr4ti, or similar cars, parts for my 4wd cherokee or wrangler (especially a decent rear bumper tire carrier) . e-mail me with what you have.
I know this jeep would bring at least $3500 cleaned and running, but i now have 4 vehicles for 2 drivers and i really don't need it, and i don't have the time or proper tools to swap the engine. if you can rebuild an engine, swap an engine, or pay some one about a grand to do the work for you this would be great fairly cheap form of family transportation.
$800.00
