His name is John.

"hey, can you post up on the NAXJ site my XJ for sale? $1500, negotiable. It's a '91 Briarwood edition. It has a new computer from a standard version, so the alarm does not work. Power door locks need to be hooked back up, but are working when they were disconnected (disconnected because the stock computer fried, and everytime you locked the doors, the alarm would go off when you unlocked them). Needs new brake hardlines to bypass the bendix ABS unit. Approx. 60,000 miles on the rebuilt engine; don't know the total mileage. I'm just wanting it out of the driveway at this point; I'm not going to be doing anything with it."

Mmmmm, wood. Have you seen it? How is the body? Is it green by any chance?

you're fascination with wood is really starting to worry me.

It's just a look I like... 2 headlights, green paint and wood panelling. There's a green Briarwood at work here that is in cherry condition.

Here is some more info
"yup. runs perfect. the brakes even work; just no ABS at the moment. All the brake hardware (shoes, pads, calipers, etc.) are new. There's very little wrong with it

it's plastic laminate; not wood. fake woodie... so the laminate looks fine. It's got the typical clear-coat flaking off, so the overall paint finish is dulled. But the plastic panels are good."

and yes its green

I have seen it but I wasn't paying too much attention

You need another project.

I'd be crazy to bring another Jeep home. I'll just armor up my green '97 with some pressure treated 2x8. Deck screws should work, right?

Make sure you get the galvanized ones, you don't want them rusting and staining the wood

Eventually the Galvanized ones will rust and stain. Go Stainless or just go lock your keys in your truck.

I think I'll go do that right now....
freakin keys. John laughed at me when I askd if I could borrow his knife in the VFW parking lot and I told him I needed it to cut my spare key out from under the truck.
I needed to teach the dog how to unlock the truck door.
