  • It was dropped with blocks in the rear and torsion bars were cranked down in the front, so easy to unlower.
  • Has a one year old cat, one year tuneup (plugs, distributor, wires, valve stem guide seals, fuel tank vapor recovery and vacuum lines), newer tires.
  • The driver's door doesn't match since the window fell off the track in the original. I did it the lazy way and swapped doors. As a result there is one tinted window and the rest aren't. The original door goes with the truck.
  • Also has chrome-like grille to go with it, just needs some massaging to fit.
  • Has plastichrome mirrors, but they're kinda small. I also have a set of Frontier mirrors to swap on for better visibility.
  • Also has a properly done straight pipe, ie new pipe welded in to replace muffler, cat was kept.
  • Spray in bed liner
  • Air shocks in rear.

It's a good little truck, but it won't meet my needs much longer. It needs a transmission, they're a few hundred at the junkyard, not much to go wrong in a stick. The engine had a blown head gasket a while back that wasn't properly fixed. It still runs fine, but there is a compression leak between cylinders 3 and 4. It still towed a 99 GMC on a dolly 25 miles with no trouble. I need something bigger and 4x4, so this truck goes. Sad to put it up, it's been in the family for over ten yrs, from my wife's first car, to her step dad, to both brothers, and back to us.

It's got over 250k miles, but when we pulled the top end apart to do the valve stem guide seals, everything was still good and clean like it only had 50k. The air shocks leak though.

Also, most of the paint issues have been covered with white spray paint.

The missing headlight is a ram air intake my brother in law set up. The intake snorkel has a hose running to the back side there. I usually leave the hose disconnected so it still sucks up colder air. When connected and coasting like downhill or to a stop, it can cause too much pressure in the carb and then fuel leaks out.

A price would probably be good too...let's start at $1000 obo.

Re: 85 Nissan 720 LOWRIDER

I love these pickups.. the napZ motor is a beast. 8 sparkplugs in a 4banger is annoying when its tune-up time, but they sure go forever.. and they hold up to abuse!

Honestly. if you were local to me.. i think i would stick a sock in the wifes mouth and talk numbers with ya'

Re: 85 Nissan 720 LOWRIDER

Yep, the Z24 is pretty abuse resistant...:D I'm looking to replace the truck with an M1028 CUCV. Or whichever number corresponds to the 5/4 ton pickup. The wife doesn't want it gone, but she's accepting of the need for it to go.

Re: 85 Nissan 720 LOWRIDER

These trucks can take a KA24 from a newer model pickup easily. Take the block from a truck, and then the manifolds and harness from a 240. Bonus is there are turbo kits available for the 240...:D Take the rear axle from a Pathfinder with discs, and the tranny from the truck you took the block and you'd have a sweet little road rocket! Those were my plans (except a sweet little desert rocket once I did suspension work as well)

This si the new grille I got for it. It came off an 82 and just seems to need very minor fitment work done to fit around one headlight.

These are the current mirrors. They look good, but are a bit small and sit a bit low. That's why I also have a pair of brand new Nissan Frontier mirrors. They're bigger.

If you're interested, make an offer. We really just wanna get this out of our yard - plus it'll help my wife remember that we're truckless if we don't have that one outside...

Re: 85 Nissan 720 LOWRIDER

Don't make me resort to craigslist...

I'm open to possible trades. I need tires for my Jeep, I could maybe go for a quad, I don't know, make an offer! Hell, maybe even a D44 front that'll bolt in.

Re: 85 Nissan 720 LOWRIDER

$800 obo or trade. I need money to get tires and bumpstops in my Jeep. Unless you have good tires I can put on my Jeep.

Re: 85 Nissan 720 LOWRIDER

Still got it. Mice have attacked the wiring and it will no longer start. Tried jumping it, tried pull starting, nothing. Please, someone make it gone. $500 obo.

Re: 85 Nissan 720 LOWRIDER

Yeah, if I can't sell it, I'll be forced to fix it and swap in a KA24, new trans, and maybe even turbo it while I'm in there...Then I'd have to make it look good and lift it back slightly above stock to play in the desert. Then there'd be no selling it. :D

Re: 85 Nissan 720 LOWRIDER

I'd be very interested, could we work out a deal of some sort?
