84 jeep Cherokee, 4 banger ?????

IIRC that filter is actually a filter and a pressure regulator in one. The extra connection is the return to the fuel tank. Same design is used on the carbed 258 in the 87 YJ and probably many others.

I was thinking the same thing, as I could see no other reason for the third fuel line on it!!! That is why I ordered it and the fuel pump from Rock auto, swapped both out just to be sure. RA was nearly giving those 2 items away. Close outs. About $30 delivered!:laugh3:

Got the brake work done, new slave cylinder installed on the clutch, and I think it is ready for an inspection. It is driveable now.

Watch the clutch master. They like to pee on the fuse block and cause all sorts of havoc with the electrical.

Yep, I fought that battle about 8 years ago on my 85, the OEM fuse block is 95% bypassed on it now.

i have a 85 4 banger, carbed of course. 2.5l amc motor with ax5 trans and np207 tcase. i know it could also have a np228? tcase and possibly a t5 trans (i heard that somewhere once).

Do you still have that rig? I am trying to track down a battery drain on my 85 right now. There is standard Bosch square relay near the battery (left one of three) that comes on when one red wire is connected to the battery (comes out of a large fat harness near the battery). It turns on one of the electric vacuum valves on the driver's side. Pulling the relay turns both off. I suspect a shorted wire somewhere, possibly a switched ground wire, that I need to find.

I think it also powers the radio (need to verify this) as it was lit up with the ignition switch off (but some of the wiring is custom under the dash)
