62 MM thortle body worth it?

I found one for $150, its a Hesco which retails at Quadratec for $399 is it worth it?
for those who have one does it give better mileage, performance?
(it would be used with a intake, and cat back exhaust)

i like mine seems go have a bit more power and i got about an mpg out of it...i borla headers and cat back with full width downpipe

that seems a little steep when you can have yours done for 60 bucks in some places but then again having it just to swap out and be done with it has a price. other than that it is a great mod and worth it. I put on on my dads zj and he even knowticed the diffence and saw about 1 mpg improvement

I bored the ring out of my stock throttle body with 15min of my time and the lathe at my Parents house. 63 probably will not do a lot more than just the 60mm that losing the restrictive ring will net you.

62mm throttlebodies are worth it from a performance standpoint
... err just not at $150. I can't remember what I paid for mine, but it was much less than that.

Definitely worth it if you have a stroker. Mine cost me about $45. $30 for the butterfly (from Accurate Power) and $15 for the lathe bits that came in a workbench I bought at a garage sale (I traded the bits for the labor).
If you can get it cheaper its worth it. $150 for one on a stock motor, not a great deal.

A bored throttle body is good for snapier part-throttle response.

The OEM throttle body is good for pretty much any common stroker, as far as airflow (even the RENIX TB will support a 4.6-4.7L stroker with minimal difficulty.)

For HO throttle bodies, if you absolutely insist of having one, I seem to recall that the later Ford 5.0L throttle bodies (mid-1990's or so) should fit up neatly - and cost you a good deal less.

After doing mine, I did notice a significant gain in throttle response. The pedal feels a lot tighter and snappier. After a while you get used to it and wonder if it even made a difference...

... until you drive a stock xj without one again. HUGE difference. My friend even commented on mine and how great it felt.

I'm running a fastman unit on mine for 2 years and I've been pleased with the results.
