I can see why it took forever. I wouldn't get any work done if I had tools like that in my shop.
Heh Heh.
Cut 11" out of the bed today.

rock krawler kit should bolt up without issue, not sure about the main hoop, im sure with some tweaks it should work, id recomend addin some legs from the rockers to the fram rail for a little extra support, plans for the rig sounds sick, keep it upI have a few questions, will my Rock Krawler three link brackets bolt onto the MJ "frame" rails? Is the interior roofline similar to that of an XJ? I was thinking of throwing the main hoop from my Cherokee in if they are the same size
that 4.8 is a damn good motor too, i had one in my 02 silverado. i liked it.A little off-topic, but what kind of mileage do you get with the 5.3?
My 4.0L isn't going to last forever, and i always debate about the 4.8. They're super-cheap.

Do you have any further details on the "Trimmed truck manifolds to fit?" They look like they fit in there pretty well.
just 4 or 5 2x2 legs is all you need, i used 1/8 wall, without bracing and solid side hits the rocker will colapse inI was thinking about adding some support there, do you think it is necessary? It is welded to the floor on the inside the entire length, I guess more support couldn't hurt.
Holy mother, thats a Sexy FC!
It sure is, now I can't stop reading about these and thinking about putting a 5.3L in one...
Do it John!![]()
It's a very straightforward swap, and it's great to drive. Power, mileage, handling and great 80's styling! You're welcome to take mine for a rip if you're around.
