4wd indicator light staying on

Ran in full time for a while the other day (87 waggy, auto, 242) and when i went back to 2wd the light is staying on. It will dim and go out occasionally, but will come back on. If you wiggle the shifter, it will go away and come back. If you put it in 4wd, the light goes off, and comes back. any clues?

Checked the adjustment of the tc lever lately?

check all vacume lines the red line runs to the 4wd light
