Those are pretty long legs for a 4 banger.

So did an '88 MJ 2.5L I have. Also a 4-speed. Yes, Tom, they are sort of long legs, but the 4-speeds don't have an overdrive.

Jeep Model, year, and package for those 4.56 gears?
I don't know of any XJs which came with 4.56 gears so any additional info would be helpful. Including, if you have them, factory part numbers for those gears.

Just for my own edification.

'87 to '89 XJ/MJ's that have a 2.5 and an AW4 tranny...pretty rare bird.

My 1984 XJ 2.5 3speed auto came with 3.54 gears. Put some 31/10.50's on it, man I was getting passed by people WALKING if I hit a hill with that thing. Needless to say, the 31's came back off pretty quickly.

someone a prior owner fawked with ya then most if not all came with 3:73's or 4:10's with that combo....

Sorry to disapoint you xjnation, but the XJ is original, and I am the 2nd owner of it. It used to belong to my brother, who bought it new. So, just because you have not seen it, does not mean that it doesn't exsist. And yes, it DOES have the CV style shafts in the front axle.
