4 x 4 Shops in Northern Illinois

I'm looking into getting some Rubicon dana 44s into my 98' XJ and was wondering where I could get some welding work, as well as driveshaft alterations in Northern Illinois/ Southern Wisconsin?

I don't weld, but want to learn...but need these axles in with the least amount of down time on my daily driver.

The front should bolt right in, but I hear that the front driveshaft will need to be shortened slightly. Going from HP 30 to a low pinion/regular 44 I wouldn't think there would be any alterations necessary eventhough the 44 is a little longer then the 30, I thought the change would be offset.

Mark at Overkill is a nice guy but if he's booked drop me a line.

Thanks John. I could really use the help not only on my 98' dd, but my 91' wheeler on HP44/9" 7 37" MTRs that has a RE Long Arm setup waiting in the garage to go on it. I'm then planning on moving the adj RE short arms and drop brackets to the 98' with 3-5" and 33's.

I could also lend a hand on your new buggy project. You cannot even buy a Olds anymore John...I hope your buggy project will be based on a XJ. I did a double take of your rig on the Pirate thread and finally decifered that it wasn't a XJ. :laugh3:
