I am ready to order new gears for my jeep, (94 xj sport, 4.0, auto, 4" lift, 33" boggers) I want to get them from 4 wheel parts (4wheelparts.com), but their site makes it a little difficult to find what I want. Maybe I am missing something, I am pretty new to this. I have a D-30 and xj D-44. I am wanting 4.56 or 4.88 which ever I can get. The rear will be welded if that makes a difference and this is a trail rig only, no street. Can someone point me in the right direction on the gear choices on their site and what else am I going to need to go from stock 3.55 i think to the lower gears?

if its a trail rig they say go with 4.88s! try one of our NAXJA sponsors like best said to do 4 wheel parts is way too expensive IMO

Thanks for the replys guys. The only reason I want to buy from 4 Wheel Parts is because I have a $100 gift card I need to use from there. I have bought a couple of other things from them before and havent had much luck. They dont seem to know anything more about XJs the their computers will tell them.

well you'll need the master install kits(even if you aren't installing them yourself) not sure if you'll need carriers or not though

im thinkin you will need a carrier for the front, almost positive, anyone back me up on that?

i just ordered my front r&p for my hp44 from national drivetrain, they have excellent customer service, as well as a wharehouse in chicago, call them and ask for Eric, super nice guy. i ordered them this afternoon, and he said id have them by thursday:woohoo:

You'll definitely need new carriers of some sort.

Can't put 4.56/4.88 gears on a carrier that had 3.55s. (personally I wouldn't put 4.88s in a D30. too thin of gear)

The 8.25 has no carrier break, but the xj D44/D30 does.

Good luck!!!

PS DON'T order their Genuine gears!!!!!
