I have heard rumors from a few of my wholesales that 4WP is downsizing and cutting alot of jobs due to the Bear Sterns bankruptcy fallout. I was wondering if anyone in here has heard about this or know first hand what is going on. Not wanting to stir the pot just curious.

They have been last on my list of places to order for many years. maybe I was just unlucky, but I always seemed to get the worst customer service there. If they couldn't find a solution in under a minute they would just blow me off.
Too hard seemed to be there motto. I always thought most of them were stoned and lethargic.
Summit has everything they have and better customer service.
All of my dealing with 4WP was directly with the Indy store. I've never stepped foot in the place either. It's 3hrs from me. I called and dealt directly with them, good guys, good service, never had any trouble at all.
I dont believe it is the stores that will be affected more of the upper mngt peps you know the ones that are overpaid and under worked haha. More along the lines of payroll cut backs in fact I heard the term used was "Cut the Fat".
Also remeber that 4WP and procomp are owned by the same company. Once again these cut backs and downsizing are rumors that I have not comfirmed but am curios to know

The only person at 4WP in Indy I have dealt with was Jon, and he has since moved up to dealer services. I knew him from back in the day on Quadratec's BB, so he was always fair. Now I avoid that store like the plague; overpriced and poor customer service/warranty service.
I would also say it's a sign of the economy. Wheeling is a luxury, an expensive one at that. Even if you have a trail beater, it and your tow rig takes expen$ive petrol...
When I had a rig, I got all my junk from DPG anyway!!

Seems that every now and then you'll find a good one, but the majority are pretty crappy. I don't have any experience with them, but I know a few who have and haven't said much good.
Although, from what I hear, while the one in Charlotte isn't worth a damn, the one in Raleigh is the exact opposite.
I hope the bastards go out of business. THEY HAVE THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE WITNESSED EVER AT THE INDY STORE. I returned some uneeded parts and instead of crediting the card used, they claim to have sent a check 1 week ago from CA. I got laid off, needed the money badly and they have no answer, were rude on the phone as in the store, and of NO help telling me where my refund is... I needed that money to start new job and now I am stuck with no anwer other then the check is in the mail.... for a week? I wouln't buy a .10 washer from that place and would drive to anywhere to get my parts rather then deal with that asshole, Mike the manager. Screw 4wheelparts, good riddance.
and now I feel a tad better, but they still suck
i just bought some stuff from them yesterday. havent had many problems from them. i only buy small things from them anyways. never had a problem. i guess it varies store to store.
I ordered a synthetic winch line, hawse fairlead, 2 Pro Comp MTs and a couple other things from them, no complaints about service. I should've bought my winch cable and fairlead through Winchdepot.com to take advantage of the free shipping with my winch. I think winchdepot and 4wp are the same anyways.
