4.7L Jeep Stroker

I'm trying to decide what to do with my blown motor, not seeing much for kits online besides Hesco. Was thinking about going with a Titan stroker motor but I'm not hearing the best reviews about Titan... Thinking of checking with some local shops to see if they've ever done one. Anyone know of any kits out there besides Hesco? ATK seems nice but pricey...

^^This website told me 95% of what I needed to know. Personally, I would not buy the Hesco kit. It's a great kit, but you can save money by piecing everything together yourself. I would not by a motor from Titan. I've heard bad reviews, and you can save 10-15% easily by accumulating the parts yourself and having a local shop assemble it.

I'm right in the middle of building/installing a stroker myself (build thread is in the CO chapter). Feel free to PM if you have any questions.

Thanks guys, yeah that seems to be the general perception about Titan... The Mopar stroker is very tempting indeed but oh so pricey! Think I may talk to a local shop to see what they can do for me.

I trolled around this site for awhile before going the stroker route. A lot of good info and a lot of info on building 4.5-4.7 strokers using used parts based on the 4.2L crank out of late model jeeps.

This, My shop had never done one before. Doing the research myself was much better then relying on them to research/guess.

cool site, i been looking at doing a stroker fer my jeep. can i get a roller cam for a 89?

so what's with the price difference btw the Mopar 4.7L and the ATK 4.7l???

Looking on highperformanceengines.com the 99-06 ATK 4.7L has the 0331 head on it! Screw that, I hope they can do it with a 7120 or 0630 head.

At that price you could go for a Hesco long block stroker and it'll probably be much better.

Yeah, I don't see justifying that price. I'm assuming it's all new and not a rebuild like an ATK. That just seems too pricey when you could build your own probably 2-3 times over for the cost of the Mopar one or buy an ATK for half that price or get a Hesco kit.

This is a lil off topic but a very interesting segue... Novak XJ V8 swap article.

Too bad they don't do it with a Hemi!!!
