Nice Rig JBMoose!

I bet you were sweating bullets the first time you pulled that thing into your garage.. it looks like it has less than an inch of clearance between your lightbar and the top of that doorway.

Do you mind sharing what rock rails those are on your XJ, and also where you landed the clear marker/running lights at?

Nice job JBMoose
Looks very clean!

Yeah, I know I'll have to do a SYE eventually.
More of budjet thing for know. When I got the XJ was thinking of doing a cheap lift on it and slapping some tires, but the more that I read the more that I wanted something solid that would last .....which means 3 or 4x the cash I intended to spend on it ahah. But I'll probably go with that anyway. Will just sell my little trail rig (1991 Tracker) :eye: and put the cash on the XJ :yelclap:.

Have to tell you that that kit sounds really good.
  • OME Long Travel Shocks
  • OME Hybrid Custom or Dual Rate Leaf Springs
  • OME Coil Springs & Spacers
  • JKS Quicker Disconnects
  • JKS Adj. Trackbar
  • JKS Adj Lower Control Arms
  • DOT SS Front Brakelines
  • New DPG U-Bolt Kit
  • Front Extended Bump stops
  • DPG Swaybar Disco Cables
  • Leaf Spring Bushings
Sounds like it doesn't come with the Uper control arms...did you use the originals or added the JKS adj uper Control arms?

How's every day driving with this kit, is it stiff or not that bad?

I really like the kit. It has a good ride etc. When I bought it the kit came with new longer DOT SS rear brake line and rear bump stops but it was more money. The upper control arms are stock on my Jeep.

jbmoose: That is a very nice and good looking setup. Good job!!

Here is my Rig:

McGraw good luck with what ever kit you buy.

Exactly 3 mm clearance between garage opening and the top of lugs on my OEM rooftop spare carrier (kind of hard to see). You can see pics of rockrails in this thread http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1064557
Cut out rockers and welded 2x4 tubing in. The markers and turn signals are InProCar. Got 'em off Amazon

what size tires on on those moabs?
305/70 16 KM2's. Basically a 33x12.50

Finally made my choice for my suspension!

I'm going to go with the 4.5 inch super ultimate XJ old man EMU hybrid kit from DPG Off-Road (http://dpgoffroad.com/products/44-5-inch-super-ultimate-xj-old-man-emu-hybrid-kit/)

Going to get as well adj Uper control arms from JKS, as well as stearing damper from OME.

bwinter1946, how does your ride flex offroad? Whats the benefit of your kit over a long arm setup? Nice looking Jeep by the way.

Thanks for the comment.

Well the answer is: I really do not know how well it flexes out as I don't use it for hardcore trails. By some forum standards I go on fairly mild trails and dunes. In addition, I tow with it so I left the rear sway bar on so that would limit some of my flex. I think a long arm might be of benefit to some but my setup is perfect for my use. Also for me ride was extremely important. I have owned and ridden in bad riding rigs before. This rides great. I was told that no way could a 4 inch, short arm lift ride well. Mine does.

I think if you check with others the OME/DPG kit is very capable offroad. In addition, I have ARB lockers front and rear so it goes where I point it. (So far. :D)

Sorry I can't be of more help.
