quick question:

why not just swap gears into the D30? is it really that much work to which you rather buy a new axel? (i know nothing of gearing, as you can tell)

If you’re super desperate I know there are at least two in the junk yards here in town. They are vacuum disco d-30 outta 4 banger XJs. Id guess right around $200 outta this yard if you drove down and pulled them (might find them in a cheaper yard though). The other desperate option is just get the carrier, but the yard I know they are in wants $100 for the carrier.

Cause I don't feel like doing the work I will already by regearing a D44 and if I can pickup a matching D30 I'll be happy.

Yeah, that's the deal though: I can get the vacuum disco here as well, but I want the non vacuum disco one. Sad thing is I kept seeing them in the junkyards locally on regular basis when I didn't need them. Now that I need one....

HOw much is a HPD30 housing w/ 4.10's and tru-trac installed worth if it is missing the knuckles, brakes and axles? (good condition on a daily driver, maybe 30K miles on it) I might have one soon....
