3N93 Holcomb Creek OPEN!

brad, go to fawnskin, at the fire station turn onto dirt road. go 3-4 mies on dirtroad, cross a bridge for santa ana trail. on your left will be a trail that runs right into holcomb. enjoy this trail
 
I'm in and will be at the discovery center at 10 am. Hopefully a few of you will join me because I'm not big on running trails alone that I don't know well. FYI, I will have my 18 month old son with me, so I may need to stop a few times for diaper changes or meltdowns. Hopefully someone who has ran the trail recently will come along to guide. If not, I'm sure we can get what we need at the Discovery center.

Well CRAP!!! A lot changed in the last 45 minutes. My son starting getting really fussy and acting weird. He then started throwing up. Just checked his temp and it's up to 101. So I'm out for tomorrow. There is no way my son will be back to 100% in the morning and even if he did seem fine my wife would probably strangle me if I took him out wheelin all day and brought him home even sicker. I'm really sorry guys and hopefully there was enough of you going that I didn't ruin the trail run. Have a great time and please take some pics or vids for us.
 
I just rearranged some things to open up my Saturday, so if someone wants to join me on Saturday I could go then.
 
Well sorry to hear about the son. Hope he gets better. No worries on not being able to go tomorrow. I'm sure another trip will work out.
 
Nobody interested in a Saturday Holcomb Creek run?
 
Looks like I'll be up there the NEXT Saturday, July 16.
 
I have an old Toyota buddy coming with me so this run is definately a go. He's meeting at my place at 9:00 am and we should be at the discovery center about 10 am. If anyone wants to come along then just be at the Discovery center at 10 or my place at 9.
 
Be prepared for a huge crowd on Holcomb. When we go next Saturday, we're starting at 7 am. But even that's no guarantee that there won't be a horde of people out there.

Just bring your brother along. It's hard for me to try and talk you out of fishing because when I actually do have a free day I choose fishing over wheelin most of the time.
 
For those of you who have ran this trail recently; what is the best/unofficial correct way to run this trail? West to East or East to West? I have been researching the trail on other forums and one forum has the trail head starting at the West next to Green Valley Lake and heading towards Big Bear/Fawnskin and the other two sites have me starting in Fawnskin/Big Bear and ending up by Green Valley Lake.
