33x10.5 tires rare?

sounds like your stuck on the BFG already. i dont know the price but im pretty sure the buckshot mudders will be cheaper, and from what ive heard they are a good all round tire. if your willing to go to 33x12.5 and are worried about price look at hi-tech retreading. ive used them and was very impressed at the performance on and off -road. plus they lasted as long as other tires ive had. hope that helps

Im not stuck on the BFG muds, due to the fact that they are around $170/tire. I like the tread, and it's looking like there are few tires in the 10.5" range. I might have to look into getting 16" rims and going metric, but I don't like having 2 different rim sizes and not being able to interchange my tires.

I like the BFG Mud-Venture MT-Buckshot Mudder style tread, its the width that is a problem with most tires. Legally I cannot have tread out past the tire, and a 10.5" tire on the rims I have is right on the hairy edge. That's why 12.5" tires are a no go, I would need to buy bushwackers. Which would be more expensive than going with the 10.5" BFGs or Boggers.

I'm not a huge fan of the BFG's, unless you are going with the Crawler.

Boggers although, will wear a lot quicker on the road, especially when it's hot out... I drove 180 miles on my 35x16 boggers in about 95* weather, and when I got there, I checked the tires, and you could about peel the rubber right off it was so soft and hot... Not to mention they are noisy, and ride like shit cold.. But they will take you anywhere.

you honestly can't go wrong with bfg mt. if you wait a couple more weeks 4 wheel parts does a demo thing where it's like 100 dollars off plus free shipping. i ordered 5 33x10.50's bfg mt last year shipped to my door for about 720. i use them on my dd in the rainforests of the olympic peninsula in western washington with a rear detroit...and they handle great. i had them sipped too only in the center lugs , maybe that helps, they wear great even with a detroit/truetrac combo, but i'm a nazi about rorating my tires every time i change the oil. bfg is the only tire i'll run.

you need to seriously check your tire inflation.
I run my bias Ply TSL's are a failiy high 35 PSI so they run cooler.
Bias Ply tires just don't do highway speeds so well.

So by the looks of it, 33x10.5x15 tires are fairly rare compared to the 12.5" tires. There are BFGs, Swampers, and Boggers. Unless I buy more rims in 16" and go metric of course. Not a lot of options, damn inspection laws.

I run the 33x10.5 BFG M/T and I must say, I love them. The truck floats well, the tire, although running around $170 is not too expensive. Similar 33x12.5 run from 120-150, so it is not a whole lot more, plus you are getting a very reputable tire. I would agree, spend the money on the tire warranty, not that they are bad, but i did kill one against a rock.....but then again, I am sure that rock would have cut up any other tire as well......Also, added benefit, they are lighter than going with a 12.5, and if you stick with 15", you offset some costs.....going to a mteric size, you will be spending some more money on wheels......just my two cents, I LOVE THEM!

Oh, and one more thing, in the rear, easier to fit and tuck than a 12.5
