31" Rubber; NO Lift

Opinions please. This is my 89 with 31" tires and no lift. All you need to do this is TJ flares, a grinder with a cutoff wheel, and some sheet-metal to replace the interior panels in the hatch. Personally, I don't think this comprimises the integrity on the unibody since the main support comes from the sheetmetal just behind the original interior panels. Just one of the ways to get maximum tire with minimum lift.

I think you should ditch the tj flares...but that's just me. I'm running 33's now with the terafles 1.75 lift spacer and shackle. You might want to go that route to get some bigger meats on in the future.

You guys should see how fortunate you really are, with the right wheels you can fit 33's STOCK! (well with the fender trimming discussed earlier)

explain the cutting of fenders to do that
once i buy my jeep from my dad i want to do that and now waste money on flares.not worth it. bushwakcers look good but are a waste. i dont feel l have the skills to cut them either. Would a body shop do this? I want to fit 33's eventually on the 3 inch lift i have. later

Don't be scared to do it yourself....Trust me, I thought we did a Crappy job on Blaine's, but now it looks bad ass!

To trim the rear we took an angle grinder and cut up every 3" or so, cutting up to where the flare angles back to the body. Then grab both the inner fender and body and bend them in and up. It looks sweet, and is incredibly strong...I was about to grab the Hi-lift to see if I could jack it up on just the remaining flare.

For the front...Don't be a wuss. How high are you willing to go? You can see the remaining pinstipes on Blaine's truck. Those were used as a limit for height. Seriously though, grab a sharpy and an angle grinder, draw something that looks cool and cut.

Also, once the feners are cut go ahead and beat any metal that might rub tires with a big hammer for clearance (actually the only thing really in the way is on pinch seam, which the hammer will gently fold over).

Blaine could have fit bigger if he didn't wuss out..."I don't want to cut the hood for clearance", " No Jordan, put the rear door back on", or even "I don't want part of the tire inside the truck while driving".

Remember, the more you cut today, the happier you'll be tomorrow.

I used a Sharpie and followed the line of the stock flares where they met the fender before removing them. Then we just followed that line with the die grinder/cutting wheel. Turned out great, sorry no pix. Got 285/70 16's (32") on there now. Actually I cut the fronts about an inch above the line. And used a sawz-all for some, but it cut almost too quick and you can wind up cutting more than intended. (which is why my fronts are an inch bigger.)

www.dictionary.com Has a nice Thesaurus to use for alternative words. If you can cram 31's with lift and YOU like it, go for it. It shouldn't really matter the "opinions" of others unless you are just that self-conscience(sp?).

It is used because it is a good word no other word has the versatiltly of fuck think about how many ways you could use it. As a transitive verb for instance Jhon fucked Shearly or as an intransitve verb Shearly fucks. How about just as a basic adjetive Jhon's doing all the fucking work. Or as and adverb inhancing an adjetive Shearly is fucking beatuiful. Or as a noun I dont give a fuck. Or as part of a word absofuckinlutly. You could even use it as almost every word in a sentance, fuck the fucking fuckers. Fuck can be used as a substiute for another word such as, I got fucked at the used car lot.
