Fueling up and heading out...

Did you get lost? Or were we already gone when you got there?
It was a nice turn out, with the trucks, and the pretty little fast and furious cars. I haven't uploaded the photos yet.

There were enough people left to tell me I missed it. :(

Oh well! The XJ needed a long drive after the recent work. I just fueled up, 20 mpg, I'll take that.

BWAAA-HA-HA-HA! I drove it like I stole it!

I told the Mrs that I'm buying her an electric golf cart. With all the short trips she makes around town, she nets 13 mpg.

Thank you everyone for making it out!
I got some good pics! However I just got done tattooing about an hour ago. So I will be waiting until tomorrow/later today to upload pics.

On the contrary... It sounds exactly like my Cherokee...

I must admit though, it does not drive like your Cherokee...

The difference is way beyond raw acceleration although I will admit that that is sort of nice too. IMO, the biggest advantage is it's on highway manners. Cruising up Monument Hill in OD with the Torque Converter locked is as easy as pie. Around town (here, that is) it runs in OD TC locked almost all of the time at around 3 pounds of boost. Those of you that run up and down the street here can appreciate this difference.

Truth be told, it drives much easier now than it did when it was stock.

When I had it in the Dealership for the Transgo shift kit to be installed, after the line Tech did his test drive, he had all of the Service Writers and the Service Manager take it out for a spin.

To say there were surprised would be a very safe understatement indeed...

I recommend Forced Induction to everybody. If you use your rig to tow, then adding some sort of Forced Induction be it a Supercharger or a Turbocharger will go a long way to improving the experience.

There is, as always, there is one caveat. The engine must be in good order prior to fitting any sort of compressor. If the engine is in poor condition then a compressor will take it out. This only makes sense as the combustion chamber pressures are being significantly upgraded...

Nothing on the face of the planet will take out a worn engine than a compressor. Good oil pressure is needed as well as a healthy cooling system. While I installed an aluminium radiator, it is not required. The aluminium radiator installation is just me being, well.... me.

What can I say?

Picture time.

Over all. I'm happy with the turn out.
We had all types of vehicles together in one spot. And I think everyone actually had a good time. Thumbs up!

Yah, it seemed to work out well. The car folks brought kids for Flores's kids to play with, and kicked in some bucks for the food, unasked for. I was impressed.

Sorry I couldn't stick around too long...my XJ decided to start pissing coolant everywhere. In preparation for my trip to PA, I had the radiator flushed a few days earlier...kinda figuring I'd figure out if it would make the trip or not. So, I was kinda glad it did it there and not in BFE, Kansas.

So, I spent this weekend pulling the rad and replacing it...that lower tranny cooler line...WTF?!?! Read all kinds of stuff...bought the plastic disconnect things and they wouldn't unlock it. I finally hack-sawed it off the radiator so I could see WTF I was dealing with. Went back and bought the aluminum disconnects and it finally let loose. Filled it up, buttoned it all back up and no leaks so far...

Anyway, looked like some sweet rigs there...wish I had more time to check them out and talk to you fellas!
