207 to 231 input shaft

I just pulled the 207 out and saw that the input shaft is longer than the one on the 231 that is going in, I have a manuel, 231 was behind a auto...before I split the cases, will the 207 input shaft swap into the 231 or are they different....

The Input shaft/gear are NOT interchange able between 207 and 231
