2008 Viper 600HP

more impressive especially if you dotn care about torque (i do care about it).

but 200 x 2 =400 hp, and 3.2 liters

i agree with you about fwd, i dont mind jap sports cars like rx7, 240sx, 300z, miata, nsx, s2000, they kick ass. I hate the fwd ricers though.

I very much agree, torque is almost superior to hp in my book, and those numbers obviously aren't anything scientific.. just more for the sake of arguement. Oh, and to clarify.. 350hp from a 5.7 liter motor is hardly what I personally would call impressive.

375 for the LT1 and that was rated low on purpose not bad for 40 year old technology especially with a carb. SBC 302 made a lot more than that especially in race trim.

I love fast cars, but Vipers have never really been my cup of tea. They just don't do anything for me. Horrible exhaust note, ice skating, and expensive? No thanks.
X2. They're gay.

They're like a sweaty armpit, I know there's a reason for it, but I just can't see myself riding around in it...

They suck as a DD too. THey're get really hot inside and they require a lot of maintenance. I'd honestly rather had a 505 hp Z06, than a 600 hp Viper.

That's really what the 'Vette has over the Viper. You can actually use a Z06 comfortably as a daily driver, whereas the Dodge is just so far behind in ergonomics, fit and finish and sophistication.

Of course, when the 650 hp Stingray/Grand Sport/SS/Blue Devil/Z07/etc. version comes out with a full carbon fiber body, a supercharged 6.2 V-8 and a 225 hp top speed, the Viper will be all but obsolete. Don't forget the Chevrolet weighs several hundred pounds less, too.

"Six-figures" is the official info. I assume it will be just north of $100,000, maybe as much as $125,000. Still undercuts the Ford GT, and any other exotic significantly, while delivering equal or greater performance.
