2006 GC 4.0

My kids girlfriend just picked up a 2006 GC with a 4.0. I haven't seen it yet, and apparently it already has some issues.

Question is: how similar is a 2006 GC to our XJ's. Wondering if I'll be able to help her keep it running.

This actually belongs in OTHER TECH, since it is not an XJ.
Engine itself is basically the same. If you are familiar with the DIS system that will help too.
2004 is the last year of the 4.0L

last year of the WJ i believe. its mostly going to be the same withs some minor differences mainly being the ignition system, as already mentioned.

WJ ended in 04, the 4.0 made it til 06 in the wrangler. My guess is it has a 3.7 in it.

I think the confusion is that the thread title and top of the OP say 2006.

The engine block is a different casting that won't swap with an XJ one (and vise versa) and the head is an 0331 iirc but otherwise they are pretty similar. Oh, they use PCI bus (I think) instead of CCD bus for data communications, but that's EE nerd stuff and basically only me, some other nerds, and dealer techs care at all.
