The time has come and the XJ must go. Due to the higher cost of finding a motor thanks to "cash for clunkers" I can not find an engine withing my budget and I do not have the time to rebuild my existing engine. I spent some time on KBB.com and came up with a selling price for the Jeep as it is now.
The Jeep:
2000 Cherokee Sport, Desert Sand in color
Tires and rims:
Tires don't match but are 30in in size
Rims are 15x8 Canyons off a Wrangler
full size spare
Mileage: 233200
Engine: 4.0L
Tranny: AW4
T-case is the NP231
Axles are LP D30 front and C8.25 rear
It comes equipped with
Cobra 29LTD CB radio
flip up screen CD/DVD/mp3/iPod deck
OR-FAB front winch bumper with custom welded on stinger in the front
custom rear bumper with 2.5 inch receiver in the rear
recovery points on both bumpers
tail light guards, not the cheesy plastic ones, but the good metal kind.
I am planning on keeping the winch, recovery equipment and roof rack/basket
The good:
just about everything
solid body
minimal rust (small spot on tailgate and rear lower quarter panels)
Carpet removed to prevent rust from water logged carpeting
runs, moves drives despite the bad (I still DD it for work)
Inspected as of March 2012 (passed, good till 03/13)
The Bad:
Knock in engine (no CEL, no loss of power, just the noise)
small hole in washer fluid bottle (wont hold fluid, easy fix just have not got to it yet)
disengaging issue with the t-case, but 4x4 works through all ranges
The Price:
$2500 for the Jeep
If you want the winch and stuff I am planning on keeping, then I am asking Blue Book (fair condition) $3200
Fix the bad and KBB value jumps to the $4000 range.
Pics:
Pics show the old rims, but will have the canyons on when you take it
