Have a hitch that will fit anybpre 96 jeep xj. I am located in the city of carson..I am asking for $55.00

Anyone??? Or I would trade for a 97+ hitch or some quick diwco..I can put money as well..

It was my understanding that the hitch work for all XJ's as they mount in the same location.

I got it off a 95 xj..but I can not install it on my 2000 xj..the gas tank is on the way... its off bt 1/2 inch..

Two scenarios for you.
1: Is the tank it is hitting steel? If so you're hitting a tank skid. The receiver goes on first then the tank skid fits over the receiver.
2: If it's plastic you must have an aftermarket receiver. Factory receivers do fit all year XJs, I have verified this on more than one occasion.
PS - If you do have the steel tank skid count yourself lucky, those are handy and not terribly common. If it's bothering you I'll take it :cheers:

Yeah i figure this was an aftermarket hitch, because I have no tank skid and the hitch is hitting my plastic fuel tank..
