2.5 inch lift, degree shim

I am planning on installing 2.5 inch OME springs on my 88 XJ. It currently has 1 inch shackles, which I plan on keeping. Will I need a degree shim for this setup? I am using angled blocks/shackles now, which will be replaced with the springs.

OK then, has anyone used 2.5 or 3 inch springs and 1 inch shackles? If so, did you need to add a shim to reduce vibration?

the 1" shackle will push the pinion up, and should eliminate the need for any shimming

btw, i use a custom leaf pack that gives me about 3.5" without any vibration

You might need to drop the transfer case; only if you experience vibration.

Considering it's an 88, I would highly doubt you would need to drop the tcase with a 3" lift.

i have a 3" lift with shims that came with the leaf pack.
