1st Annual IC Geostach Challenge

My concern is screen printing and those tiny lines. Might turn out as a jumbled mess. Just a thought.

I agree that is why I like this map the best.

You might as well tell him to stop.

After talking to the tshirt guy the shaded grey colors will not work.

Another thing is I do not like the jeep. I think it needs to have the Topo, compass and the coords.

Either that or we go back to the cards.

Its just the nature of screen printing that you have to have solid colors. Different shades of grey just don't work.

Why wont the grey work? It seems to be ok on the fall fling shirts.

I will tell him to stop.

grey works but it needs to be a solid color. Its the shading that won't work.

If you look at the fall fling shirts they were three or four colors but all the shading was taken out.

The way vector art works is one solid color has to be overlayed by another solid color. Its not like where you can take a black and slowly reduce the black to make a shaded area.

One thing we could do with is art...which I would like you guys to think about is using it as a poster to take around to some of the 4x4 shops and dealers.

You told me that the program would convert the color to the closest match. Does this not work for grey as well?

How about we use this map convert it to 3 colors (black, green and white) and overlay a compass in the lower left corner and have the ......Geostash Challenge at the top and the cords at the bottom in black as well. That would only be 3 colors.

We could even convert the green to grey and still only have 3 colors.

Thats something that would work better. Or I was thinking of having the map with the compass right in the middle of the top. So the east-west pointers was right at the top line of the map. The south pointer would be in the map and the north would be above it. Then we could use it to split the text.

I think you would need a lot more then 5 colors to get an apropriate match to make it look real.

Thats why most screenprited shirts you see have a cartoonish look.

That would be cool too. I just didn't understand not being able to create 3 diferent greys. I'll see if Rob wants to do another one. Give me some better guidelines of what you want to see.

Loose the jeep, keep some brightness in it and remember that anything he does the art guy will have to do all over again. The way vector art works means that something can not simply be converted.

I'll have him quit. I think Clint can figure out what you want and get it put together with his guy.

You brought up the idea of the Topo, which we all like. Also the idea of the compass, which I really really like.

Now we just have to figure out a way to make it work but still keep the shirts simple and cheap.

We need to check each registration when they come in. I was just trying to register and it wanted to charge me 80.00 with no additional meals or shirts. I added extra meals and it did increase appropriately but it started out wrong.

Maybe we should run a few testers through to see how they come out.

You don't need to pay when you register.

Out of curiosity. Was it the registration forum showing the 80 or was it the paypal forum?
