1997 Xj Help

I'm interested in your knowledge. Of Course! Mopar parts are expensive. The dealer wants $130 plus tax here in new york for a crank sensor. I have an after market cam sensor cost me $75. You would think that as old as my XJ is the parts would be affordable. Geez!:looney:

Hey Guy thanks so much for all your help. I just had to take out the time and let you know. What has happened. I bought a mopar crank sensor and installed it. And I got severe backfires. It got so bad she just shut down on my test drive. I got her started and she ran well for 1/4 mile and the backfires started again. I took it to another mechanic who specialty is jeep. and his remedy was my harness was no good and replace it. So I threw up my hands and I conceded defeat. I pumped so much money into my XJ and went to so many mechanics and short specialists, and even the dealers got a piece of the action. And no one could help me get my truck to run right. With all the aftermarket parts and money i've spent I just sold it to a kid who has his own Xj for $500. And I walked away in tears. Because I felt like I lost my kid. I had her for 18 years and I babied her garage kept and I got 309K miles. I still feel If I could've found an ignition harness I'd still have her. Thanks so very much again.
