Good morning all,
I'm helping out a buddy with his 1996 Pathfinder with rear disc brakes. The drivers side parking brake is completely locked up and is getting rocket hot. The cable is disconnected and has slack, but we are unable to get the rotor off since the shoes are not only grabbing it, but likely have worn into some decent grooves inside the rotor.
Any advice as to the next step? I was thinking we could unbolt the backing plate to get it off, but we still can't disconnect the cable and I think the axle stub would want to come out with everything. I'm not too familiar with these trucks.
Thanks for any help.
