No rocker panels, heat doesn't work, I think all 4 shocks are blown, RMS is most likely gone, etc. Oh, and there is just this small fact the front unibody rail around the steering box would as the wheels were turned, and it had a C-rok inner steering plate on. Both the inner and out plates are on and are necessary to drive that thing, the trackbar pops every time it turns, the whole front end shifts and floats around every time you go over a bump. Its really quite gross because you can feel the whole front end moving.

Bill, be very glad you didn't buy this thing for Angel.

This is what it did to a C-rok inner brace after less than a month of driving. I got death wobble really bad one day, and by the time I got to Ross's, the whole front end would creak and groan as I turned.

Wow. How much did you pay for that thing? it was sounding a lot like mine (when I first got it) up till you described the scary frame issues. Rusted out gas tank, rusted out radiator, rusted out brake lines, rusted out floors, rusted out exhaust, rusted out oil pan (I thought it was the rear main seal, nope, my oil pan has a hole rusted through it), rusted LCA brackets on the axle, shocks were definitely worthless. Oh, and the passenger door didn't work at all.

How do you intend to deal with the rust under the woodgrain? I've never really understood how to fix that - it seems like you'd either end up with a horrible ugly patch to the woodgrain or have to redo the whole panel it's on.

That is a very clean Jeep. The dealership that it was originally purchased from is about20 minutes from me and you can see that the Jeep bug caught on in that town. Everytime I drive through Ridgefield, I see at least 10 Jeeps and lots of them are Cherokees.

:loveu:

That interior is awesome and it almost makes me want to laugh at the pictures you posted of the rust. You've got like two and a half hours worth of sanding and painting to make that look fine. The front bumper will clean right up. Your daily driver to be is more badass than my comanche to be and your trail rig could show up the Honcho any day if you actually got it offroad. Aren't you glad you got another jeep?

Apparently we need a 3rd OT thread for some of these guys :looser:

Mark, do you have a 5th matching wheel for this rig?

This thing is a beauty, congrats again on the purchase. Glad to hear it will be tastefully "restofied".

I know, seriously.

Thanks John.

No, it came with a donut spare. I thought about leaving that spare in because the rear cargo cover would interfere with a full sized. I do have a stock fullsize spare from the red Jeep I'll have on hand should anything happen, but that tire is just on a stock steely. I do have an Ecco and andother stock alloy wheel with the holes in it sitting under my deck though.

I have a few ideas I'll post up later about possible modifications I want people inputs on.

I have another wheel your welcome to. Had these on my wife's old Country.

There are two cargo covers, one for donut and another for fullsize spare.... i think.

I can verify John's suggestion - I have a fullsize spare (well, it was fullsize before I got 32s...) and a cargo cover that fits perfectly around it. I *think* the only difference is a cutout in the fabric but I'm not sure.

I pulled the cargo shade from that junk yard jeep I found. It had a compact spare, and the relief in the cargo shade is definatly different. It wont fit around the full sized spare as nice.

Im torn between cutting the relief bigger to fit around my tire, or just selling the whole set up.

Ya, I have the "Six Accusound by Jenson speakers and automatic actuating power antenna." Ya, the power antenna still works :)
Radio sounds great, I think I might just leave the radio stock too.

ah yes the power antenna

people were amazed it worked. when i would come up to a tree or somethign i would turn it off to prevent damaging it

this jeep sucks, itll now be crused forever........

:D
Yes Ross, I will "cruse" in it.
I really hope its not "cursed" though.

I have a brand new factory spare that'll match those tires.
I'm pretty sure I'll take you up on that. I'm not sure when I could get down there though.

These should be in the mail soon.

well you're gonna have to outbid carmelo for the spare, it's at $1000 so far...

:D

Alright, I need some advice

Should I do Hella E-codes or Autopals? Also, 100/80w Hella lights, 85/80w Osram Hyper whites, or if I got the E-codes, 100/70w Hellas?

Also, I was going to be pulling the stock fog lights off to clean up the brackets, and was thinkinga bout replacing them while I had them off. Should I go with KC 57 series lights on the front, or Hella 550 amber fogs? The KC's would be nice as I would be able to have them as both white driving lights, as well as white/amber fog lights after putting the lexan lenses on. I think the KC's without the covers would look more like the stock fogs, but the Hellas would look better with the covers on them, and would probably work than the KC's orange lens cover.

I think this looks great, but I'm not sure how it would look with chrome
