1991 Jeep Briarwood

So, I figured I would start a thread to show the Briarwood I just picked up, as well as some of the slight modifications I'm going to do to it hopefully in the near future.

As was stated before:

1991 Jeep Cherokee Briarwood
64,725 miles
4.0/AW4/NP242
Power everything, and it all works with the exception of the mirrors. I even have the key fob for locking and unlocking the doors.
Owned by one family. (Owned originally by the father of the guy I bought it off of)

It was purchased at Pamby Jeep Eagle in Ridgefield Connecticut. It was in a garage for the first 15 years of its life on Martha's Vineyard, in which it then moved to a garage in Wellsley. (The guy definitely had money, and I joked to Colin that it looked like he lived on a country club when we took a look at the Jeep. Going to pick it up in the day time, I realized that he did in fact live on a country club. Must be nice to have a golf course in the back of your yard.)

List of work done to it (I have a folder of service records from the guy, all done at a Jeep dealership).
-ABS sensors, accumulator, pump, modulator, master cylinder and actuator assembly replaced.
-Valve cover gasket
-Fuel tank, pump and sending unit replaced 1000 miles ago
-The guy had it repainted about 3 or so years ago
Tons more, I don't feel like listing it all. The dealership did regular maintenance check ups on it as well.

I just found one of the invoices from the dealership, The service was from last July, and it was more than I paid the guy for the vehicle.

There is one small spot of rust on the bottom of the passenger front door. And there is some bubbling behind the wood grain on the gas tank door. The fog light brackets rusted, and so that bled onto the chrome bumper some.

Its a little dirty in these pictures.

I'll get more pictures tomorrow

Nice! Ide cruise that thing!

I just found a jeep with interior like that, but it wasnt a "woody". Wood grain just like that, and all sorts of loaded. ABS, NP242, roll up cargo shade...all perfect. C4C vechicle. Only had 100,000 miles. Really irked me. So I nabbed the wood grain dash, most of the switch panels, and the roll up cargo shade with hardware for $6 haha. I love junk yards.

Anyway...nice Jeep. Ide be tempted to leave that thing stock with it being loaded and all.

your point of keeping a nice xj nice, just silly talk i tell ya, must be that jersy air

No Jersey air for me. I left that sinking ship two yrs ago:flame:

Yep this thing is staying stock. This thing is not going to see anything other than pavement, I have a Jeep for that already. (the fact that that one doesn't run is irrelevant...)

By mods I meant:
-Install 3rd brake light
-12ga headlight harness with either Hella E-codes or Autopals
-Even though the Bendix brake system was all replaced recently, I think I'm probably going to do the WJ booster and master cylinder. The brake light was on most of the ride home, but I just went and took it for ride and the light was off.
-Maybe European Jeep tail lights, so I can wire up some of the red fog lights for inclement weather.
-European amber front turn signal lenses to replace the clear ones.

sounds like some sweet plans good luck with this one

Slick. OME lift, rubi wheel/tire package, done.

Haha.
I've thought about giving it a small budget boost. I wanted to do some new rear leafs at least.

As far as the Rubi wheels. I would like to, but the tires are like brand new on this one, and I'm trying not to spend too much money on this to start with. Maybe eventually, but I like this in stock form.

dont even do a BB, thats how my blue jeep started

- OME 2"
- Rubi wheels / BFG / GG A/Ts
- Stock tire carrier
- Vent visors (chrome ones like i have :D)
- Tint the windows

And some other small stuff to make it more comfortable to drive all the time.

Ha, I was going to ask you about the chrome vent visors. I wish the windows were tinted.

I have been thinking about possibly adding controls to the radio on the steering wheel, that would be cool. I would probably have to replace the stock radio to do that though.

Jeff might have some chrome vent visors for cheap.
