1990 RENIX misfire backfire on acceleration

just plan on the bolts breaking. It's not a big deal, they are easily available or replaced with standard hardware.

Check the reference voltage coming into the TPS to ground.
I'd bet it's low. Then proceed to clean all grounds and connectors.

The most common issues for backfiring and poor running in the renix are grounds, TPS and MAP.

I'll definitely try unbolting the cat and see how it goes, I should probably go out there now and soak the bolts with some pb blaster. I can't order any parts until Friday so I'll toss the old pump back in for now

Let us know if dropping the cat does the trick.
