1988 Comanche Pioneer short bed 2wd

I bought this from a friend to fix up (and save it from them making any more questionable "improvements" to the truck), but I honestly don't think I need yet another project right now, so I've decided to throw it out there for my NAXJA family. It's an '88 MJ Pioneer, 4.0/5 speed/2wd. All stock, nothing fancy. Body is in okay shape. Interior needs a cleaning. Engine shows low compression on a few cylinders, but runs great with no smoke or noises (the terrible running issue was just a bad vacuum hose to the MAP sensor-this has been fixed and it runs great now.) It has a good set of Michelin tires on it.

My bottom dollar, no negotiating NAXJA member price is $1,300.

I'm posting this from my phone so I can't upload a picture of it, but PM me your email and I'll send one to you if you're interested.

I wish! haha would make a nifty pickup. I would for fab a flat bed for it that's a thing I've always wanted to do to a truck. are the commanche beds removable even with it being unibody?

Sure wish I could buy this instead of working on the 88 I have. At least this one is together and converting to 4WD would be easier. Not to mention it has a title...... LOL!

I'm zeroing in on getting Wendy's red ZJ fixed. Once that's done, the MJ will be off the market and her gold ZJ will go up for sale instead. I only listed this one because I promised I'd try to sell something to pare down the fleet so I'm really kinda hoping no one buys this thing before the next couple of weeks pass lol. I feel like I'm really close on that red one.....

Thanks for posting the pics Glenn

Ok, I know I've gone back and forth with this thing, but the reality of it is that it just needs to go, along with her gold ZJ and a lot of other stuff. So I'm dropping the price to exactly what I have in the truck.

$1,025 firm for naxja guys/gals, clear title, cash only, no trades

I'd rather someone from here buy it and make something out of it, but I'll be putting it on Craigslist too. The price will be a little higher on there to allow for negotiating.

Interior is not really that bad for an '88 model truck, just dirty and the seat has some very minor tearing in the vinyl on the driver's side. Other than that, it will need a radio & speakers. As for rust, none to speak of, There's a spot inside the bed that looks like someone cut a small hole in the floor and it has surface rust all around it, but no rot anywhere that I've seen. The kid that had it before me drove it all over the place. Maybe the new price I just posted will entice you to come have a closer look in person. It doesn't have tags or insurance so we can't drive it much.

It's been repainted at some point and the clear is doing the usual fading thing.

Here are a few pics

I have no idea what happened here. It looks like someone cut this small hole for some reason. The surrounding metal is solid, just surface rust. :dunno:

Carpet needs to be taken out and pressure washed, but is in good shape otherwise. The cloth part of the seat is in good shape, the vinyl lower section on the driver's side has some minor tears.

Rear sliding window with working latch

New battery & serpentine belt

Overall it's a solid little truck that would make a great start on a project, or just rock it as-is. It's got a lot of "patina" as the VW guys would say lol I also have the dash panel (the part that goes around the instrument cluster & radio) but as usual, it's been butchered by someone that installed a radio at some point.

:us:

I would buy this form you in a heartbeat for Glenn and to convert to 4wd if I had the money in the bank. UGH!

Could I take a look at it Saturday? I'm going to be in Cumming at some point throughout the day.

I should be around on Saturday. As far as I know, I'll be pulling the transmission out of Wendy's red ZJ

I know the feeling, my friend. So many wants....so little cash! It's the story of our lives!!!

Where is Flowery Branch??

North of Atlanta off 85.

CRAP!! The correct answer would have been....."The farthest point away from middle TN and still be in Georgia"

That's not too far away...
