Hi there everyone. I have lurked through these forums for years, but decided I'd join to have a better shot of selling my XJ to someone who'll appreciate it more than the average buyer.
It's a 1987 Jeep Cherokee Pioneer. It has had only three owners, of which I am the third (after my dad), and has spent all but around a year of its existence in Georgia. Automatic transmission. 4WD is fully functional. 161,xxx original miles. Had quite a bit of work put into it by my dad, after he bought it in Georgia from the original owners (an elderly couple).
It's my steadfast main transportation (though I don't drive a lot) and has yet to fail me in any way, save a dead battery back in May. It has made the 800 mile journey between Michigan and Georgia on three separate occasions without a single issue. On the most recent trek, I averaged (fuel mileage miser that I am) around 25 per gallon.
Here's some of the work that I know off the top of my head:
-New fuel tank. (Fall 2009)
-New fuel pump. (Fall 2009)
-Cassette deck replaced with a mint one out of another XJ. (Fall 2009)
-New speakers. (Fall 2009)
-Original 4.0L, six cylinder Renix engine rebuilt. (Fall 2009)
-Repainted its original Grenadine Metallic (Fall 2009)
-Four new tires-Goodyear Wrangler Radials. (Spring 2011)
-Brakes done. (Spring 2011)
-Rebuilt AC, (Spring 2011)
-New battery. (Spring 2012)
The only things that do not work are the rear window washer and the cruise control, both which are disconnected. Asking $3,500 for it, but I'm negotiable.
Don't think I can post images as a new user, so here is the Craigslist link that has some photos:
