1987 bucking jeep

No one mentioned a bad IAC or at least to clean it. Mine was bucking occasionally and my IAC was just loose. I tightened the two T-10 torx screws holding it and my bucking went away. That is a vacuum leak as well.

last nite on the way home I had no problems. I am about to the point to just wait for it to die so it is easer to test a bad sensor rather than one that is good most of the time.

but I am starting to think that it is a backfire because the hard line that runs from the airbox to the valve cover has been off 2 times now

RE: A bad evap canister...

Strange.. I removed mine completely.. and I haven't noticed anything..

If remember, removing one is better than having a bad one. A "bad" or clogged one causes pressure to build up and the vehicle starts bucking. If you remove it, I think you just need to run a vented gas cap so the pressure doesn't build up.

A LOT of people remove them, some don't. There's a whole "environmentally friendly" argument that I don't want to be responsible for starting. I bought one. Had I known running a vented gas cap would have fixed the problem, well.... I probably would have saved $90 since it almost never gets driven.

i had the same problem with my 99 turned out it was a faulty oring on a injector. It would come and go and usually would happen after i started it and then it would eventually go away
