1987 4.0 Can't find the part number for the CTS (on block just above oil pan) that has a connector similar to an injector.

No, that is not the one I was struggling with.

I think the manual picture I was looking at is wrong. It points to a temp sensor which I think in in fact is the knock sensor. Adding to that that the replacement part looks nothing like the original caused my confusion.

I have been to your site thank you. When I was refreshing the knock sensor connection it came apart. Silicone for now but ordering a new one.
