Im looking for a little bit of information on the transmission in my 06 gmc sierra 1500, and I was hoping you all might have a little insight. Some wheel spin going out the driveway in the snow the other day seems to have taken out 3rd and 4th gear. When in D or 3 the truck acts like it is in neutral, but it will drive like normal in 1 or 2. I am wondering if anyone in the fort collins area knows of a good rebuild shop, or knows somewhere I can pick up a good used one. It is a 2wd behind a 4.3 v6. I have found a lot of conflicting information on what applications will interchange. Does anybody know if a transmission from a 5.3, or 6.0 2wd will bolt in? what about one from an s-10?
