I got a 00 xj. a couple weeks ago i went to a beach in mexico called el golfo to do abit of r and r and some offroading with my fam. my brother was driving my XJ since it had a/c and my 1yr old nephew was with us so thats why i let my brother drive it, and i was driving my dads YJ. Anyways the line to get back into the u.s.a was semi long so we were standing waiting in line for about an hour. we about 15min from crossing the border and i get a call from my brother telling me my oil psi guage is reading 0. i obviously know thats not a good thing. but my nephew was in my jeep and it was very hot outside so i told my brother screw it keep going it blows up ohh well. right when he was about to cross the border it just stalls out of nowhere. about 5min past and it started back up. oil gauge still read 0 so i told him to get to the nearest gas station. well we meet up i let it sit for about 30min. i checked the oil it look very clean. not milky at all. i started it up and ran fine my oil psi gauge was reading about 15-20 at idle. it hasnt done this since that day. but im curious as to what have might cause it stall out of nowhere? could the stalling issue be related to the oil reading 0?
